In ancient times and ancient tribes the drum was used as an effective form of communication. The drummer would beat out important messages using a drum language which delivered the news to all the surrounding communities at once. In turn recipient villages would ‘beat out’ information to their further afield neighbours. News travelled quickly and efficiently.​
